Frisian Sea
A strategy game in your browser, on the Frisian Sea of the early Middle Ages. Frisian ships sail from Dorestad to Ribe, heavy with cloth, salt and wine, and Franks, Saxons and Danes have their eyes on their silver. Build your village on a terp, a mound raised above the tide, send your people out across the land and defend what is yours.
Frisian Sea is in beta: there may still be bugs in it. If you spot one, please report it via Report a bug.
You don't need an account. A game against the computer starts right away and runs entirely in your browser.
Four villages, a unique map every game
You start with a hall and a handful of villagers. Gather food, wood, iron and silver, lay out fields and grow your village. Every map is different: water, forest and rock are never in the same place twice.
You only see what your own people see
The rest of the map lies in fog. Send a scout ahead, train spearbearers, bowmen and horsemen, and choose where you fight. A game takes twenty minutes to half an hour.
This is what a game looks like
A village grows, moves into a new age and then the Danes land. One minute, with sound.

Missions with real history
Missions are coming that you play on your own, each set in a piece of real history of the North Sea coast: how Frisians, Franks, Saxons and Danes lived, traded and went to war here. As you play, you learn what life was like back then. Fun and educational, for children too.
There will also be a ranking and logging in with an account you already have.
